Bring your favorite furry, feathered or four-legged friend to the Calhoun County Fair Pet Show! Children ages 5–12 are invited to show off their pets, while children ages 3–4 can join the fun with a special Stuffed Pet Show.
Pet Show Schedule
9 a.m. — Registration
10 a.m. — Pet Show Begins
Who Can Enter
Pet Show: Children ages 5–12 may enter one pet.
Stuffed Pet Show: Children ages 3–4 may bring their favorite stuffed animal and show it off.
Pet Show Rules
- Each child may enter one pet.
- Pets may include dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds or other safe, domesticated animals.
- Pets must be owned by the exhibitor or the exhibitor’s immediate family.
- Pets must be friendly, healthy and safe around children and other animals.
- Pets must remain on a leash short enough to maintain control, in a carrier or otherwise safely contained at all times.
- Any animal exhibiting unsafe or threatening behavior will be removed from the fairgrounds.
- Female dogs that are in heat, pregnant or nursing puppies may not participate.
- Animals already being exhibited in another current Calhoun County Fair division are not eligible for the Pet Show.
- Children should present and handle their own pets as much as safely possible. Parents may assist younger children when needed.
- Teasing, scaring or rough handling of pets is not allowed.
- Costumes must be safe and comfortable and may not restrict the pet’s or child’s breathing, vision, movement or hearing.
- Please bring water for your pet and provide bathroom breaks as needed.
- Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
- Dogs and cats 4 months of age and older must have a certificate of rabies vaccination. Dogs 6 weeks of age and older must have proof of parvovirus vaccination.

Pets entered in the Best Trick category will have a maximum of two minutes to perform their trick.
Entry Form
A completed Children’s Pet Show Entry Form & Parent/Guardian Agreement Form is required. The form includes the child’s information, pet information, costume contest entry and parent/guardian permission and liability agreement.
